We are open 7 days a week (weekends and bank holidays reserved for urgent cases) only closing for Christmas day, Boxing day and New Years day so we are always able to meet our clients’ appointment needs. Most appointments are 15 minutes, but we appreciate sometimes longer is needed and there is no additional charge for this. If you are bringing more than one animal, or if you are likely to need a longer consultation due to a problem being complex, or blood samples needing to be taken for example, we may book you a double appointment. We offer consultations throughout most of the day.
All consultations are by appointment only. This helps to reduce waiting times and ensures that, as far as possible, everyone is seen as close as possible to the time of their appointment. There may very occasionally be times when you must wait a little for your appointment, usually because the vet is dealing with another animal that requires emergency treatment, and we would request your patience and understanding if this happens.
Home Visits are available Monday to Friday in certain situations, for example for euthanasia (although specific days cannot be guaranteed) Please call the surgery before 9.30am if you require a home visit. For pet owners that do not drive we can give you details of a local Pet Ambulance Service that will help you bring your pet to the surgery. Please contact us for more information.
When ordering repeat prescriptions, we need 24 hours’ notice to ensure we have the drug in stock and for the vet to check dosage prior to dispensing. In most cases we like to check animals on long-term drug treatment every 3-6 months both to ensure there is no change or deterioration in the condition and also if the drug is still relevant, the nurse will be able to advise you when the next check is due when you call for the repeat prescription.
For emergencies that happen when the surgery is closed we refer our clients to the Out of Hours Emergency service at Pet Medics, Worsley 0161 794 4999.
