Dogs

Vaccinations

First injection – from 8 weeks old
Second injection – 2 to 4 weeks after first injection.

Allow out for walks one week after final injection. Can allow into garden provided it is enclosed and no other dogs/foxes access it.

Annual boosters ensure combined protection against: Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Infectious Hepatitis, and Leptospirosis.

If your dog is going into kennels, we recommend and most kennels insist on a kennel cough vaccination one week before boarding. The vaccination lasts one year.

Worming

Every 2 weeks until 12 weeks.
Thereafter every 3 months for life.

Flea Treatment

All dogs can pick up fleas from the environment and can be brought into your home on clothing.

We recommend all year-round prevention because fleas can live in the comfort of your heated home during the winter months!!

The vet/nurse will advise you on which product is best. We offer flea check consultations.

Microchipping

The microchip is the size of a grain of rice which is inserted into the dog’s scruff like an injection. It can be done at any age.

It is a permanent form of identification.

If your dog is found and taken to any vets/police station/rescue centre they can identify your pet if it is microchipped.

Neutering

Spaying – Females

Helps to reduce roaming behaviour and aggression towards other dogs.
