First injection – from 8 weeks old
Second injection – 2 to 4 weeks after first injection.
Allow out for walks one week after final injection. Can allow into garden provided it is enclosed and no other dogs/foxes access it.
Annual boosters ensure combined protection against: Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Infectious Hepatitis, and Leptospirosis.
If your dog is going into kennels, we recommend and most kennels insist on a kennel cough vaccination one week before boarding. The vaccination lasts one year.
Every 2 weeks until 12 weeks.
Thereafter every 3 months for life.
All dogs can pick up fleas from the environment and can be brought into your home on clothing.
We recommend all year-round prevention because fleas can live in the comfort of your heated home during the winter months!!
The vet/nurse will advise you on which product is best. We offer flea check consultations.
The microchip is the size of a grain of rice which is inserted into the dog’s scruff like an injection. It can be done at any age.
It is a permanent form of identification.
If your dog is found and taken to any vets/police station/rescue centre they can identify your pet if it is microchipped.
Spaying – Females
Prevents unwanted pregnancies.
Prevents life threatening womb infections.
Reduces the risk of mammary (breast) cancer.
Their first season is usually between 6-12 months and they can be spayed from 6 months.
Castration – Males
Prevents testicular cancer.
Reduces the risk of prostate disease.
Helps to reduce roaming behaviour and aggression towards other dogs.
Can be castrated from 6 months of age.
We strongly recommend you insure your pet however we cannot advise you on which company or policy. Look at a variety and ensure that they offer ‘Lifetime Cover’.
